Introduction

Historically Christchurch has provided a strong base for high performance triathlon in New Zealand. In 1996 the New Zealand Triathlon Academy was established in Christchurch as the national programme for excellence in Triathlon. Over the years Canterbury has produced multiple World Triathlon Champions and Olympic representatives in Erin Baker, Jenny Rose, Sarah Harrow, Ben Bright, Kris Gemmell , Greg Watson and Andrea Hewitt.

Local Canterbury Triathlon coaches have combined forces to help establish a regional programme for young triathletes in the Canterbury region, and we hope you will join our community!
