You will need to be a Tri Club member before you can join a session.
If you would like to come to the Monday run session or Thursday bike email John first events@canterburytriclub.co.nz so you can get set up in the system and a bike can be reserved for you (these sessions can be busy and sell out). UPCOMING GROUP SESSIONS
Club 5km/10km Monday 28th October
All members and aspiring members are invited to join the CTC LABOUR DAY CLUB RUN
Where: meet at the Tannery car park by The Brewery pub
When: Monday 28th (Labour Day) ready to run at 8am (we will warm up for 10mins and start at 8:15am)
What: 5km (1 lap) or 10km (2 laps) run at whatever pace you want to run + a group warm up.
Course: 2.5km out and back on the new cycleway towards Ferrymead https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48805105
Afters: there is the cafe in the Tannery for a post run croissant
Just to be clear this is not any sort of official race. There will be a cone at each end of the course and that is it.
Unless the weather is really really bad we’ll run.
Chris McAteer Memorial Break the Ice Simulation Session, Saturday 2nd November
Where: Lake Rua
When: Saturday 2nd November ready to swim at 8am
What: Informal race simulation (sprint or olympic distance).
Course: Swim laps of the lake are ~750m so 1-2 laps, Bike - out and back on Mcleans’s Island Rd, Run either laps of the 2 lakes or a road based lap https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48849603
This is not any sort of official race and it is not a coached session.
OxMan test run Sunday 24th November
Where: OxMan race venue
When: Sunday 24th November 8am start
Athlete led Swim ~20mins, Bike a lap of the course, Run a lap of the course
Team up with others for a lap around the course before next weekends race
REGUALR WEEKELY SESSIONS
MONDAY RUNNING (year round except public holidays)
When: Monday 5.30pm - the first 30mins is core conditioning
Where: Waltham Pool, 30 Waltham Road (meet in the club room, if we are not there or you are late we sometimes do core on the fields behind the pool)
What: 5-30-6pm is core work and running drills, 6-7pm is a structured run workout
Who: All levels welcome from 18 years up. Intervals are modified based on speed & ability.
Coach: John Newsom or a guest coach
Cost: $7 for CTC members
WEDNESDAY BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE SWIM SESSION (ALL YEAR)
When: Wednesday 6:30am - 7:30am
Where: Graham Condon Pool
What: swim fitness session (optional stretch in spa post-session)
Who: beginner to intermediate (3 lanes booked for various levels)
Bring: swim equipment accessories (basic recommended - pull buoy, hand paddles / optional - fins, band), water bottle
Coach: Craig Moore swimming@canterburytriclub.co.nz
Cost: $8 a session for CTC members + pool admission (concession card from reception most economical option)
INDOOR WAHOO KICKR BIKE SESSIONS
When: Thursday 5:55am - 7:05am (set up from 5:35am)
Where: Waltham Pool, 30 Waltham Road
What: Interval based session on Wahoo kickr's (smart trainer) or standard trainers (All supplied)
IMPORTANT: You will need to BOOK a bike in the training sessions app before attending. If you do not book a bike or trainer and you turn up and there isn’t a bike free, then sadly you’ll be heading back to bed. If you would like to try this session as a newcomer, please email Michelle canterburytriclub@gmail.com and she will book you a bike and instruct you on how to become a member etc.
Who: All levels welcome from 14 years up. Intervals are modified based on speed & ability.
